We are celebrating eight years of the Leipzig Science Network!

🎉 Eight Years of the Leipzig Science Network
On April 17, 2018, Leipzig’s scientific institutions joined forces to form the Leipzig Science Network e. V.: We aim to enhance the visibility of Leipzig as a hub for science, cooperate in research, teaching, knowledge transfer, and administration, create synergies, and share infrastructure.
Today, 25 universities and research institutions from Leipzig and the surrounding area, as well as the City of Leipzig, are members of the Leipzig Science Network e. V. We are an active network that works together to promote the region!

💡 What our networking efforts achieve:
Over the past eight years, the ideas from our early days have evolved into concrete initiatives for science and society:
- We support scientific collaboration, for example through the Leipzig Science Club and the pilot call for proposals NetzWerkstatt
. We promote networking and synergies at the local level—in research, knowledge transfer, internationalization, public relations, and administration.
- We are a partner for our members’ event formats: from the Long Night of Science to the WissKomm Symposium.
- We advocate for dual careers: the Dual Career Netzwerk Mitteldeutschland (DCNM), with 38 members from Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, is based at the
LSN.
- We champion a welcoming culture for our international researchers, for example through a Welcome Reception and the online portal “Welcome to Leipzig.”

🚀 In the coming years, we aim to expand these successful initiatives and establish the Leipzig Science Network as a platform for research collaboration and the advancement of excellence in Leipzig as a hub for science.
