In 2018, Leipzig's science institutions joined forces in the Leipzig Science Network e.V. (LSN) in order to intensify their cooperation, gain synergies and increase the national and international visibility of the science location.

The science location Leipzig is characterized by an unusually large spectrum of universities and non-university science institutions in a small area, as well as a broadly positioned research landscape ranging from highly theoretical basic research to application-oriented transfer.

The Leipzig Science Network supports its members in solving common tasks of the institutions in a cooperative manner and creates exchange formats for scientists and employees in administration and infrastructure. The network's activities create short distances between the participating institutions as well as synergies in research, teaching, transfer, administration and infrastructure. Through a joint strategic research profiling of the Leipzig science institutions, we want to generate applications for joint projects and strengthen the visibility and attractiveness of the location.

With the Leipzig Science Network, we promote and coordinate the cooperation of our members, consolidate joint activities and create sustainable and reliable structures for scientific cooperation in Leipzig.
